Security+ is a CompTIA certification that measures the technical knowledge of networking professionals in the IT industry. The Security+ certification is targeted for candidates with at least two years on-the-job networking experience with an emphasis on security, or students that have passed CompTIA’s A+ or Network+ exams. Earning a CompTIA Security+ certification demonstrates proof of your expertise in security topics, such as communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, access control, authentication, external attack and operational and organization security. Increasingly, government agencies and contractors in the U.S. are having to comply with new laws or directives that require them to demonstrate that they have skilled workers in place to help counteract the risk of confidential information getting into criminal hands.
