This 108-hour/17-week Pharmacy Technician Certificate program is designed for you to prepare to work as a pharmacy technician in hospitals, clinics or local pharmacies. Upon successful completion of this 5-course program, you will be eligible to sit for the Virginia Board of Pharmacy state exam and the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Entry-level employment as a pharmacy technician in Virginia requires certification. You are highly encouraged to seek internships or work experience while completing this program training to further employment opportunities.
To achieve PTCB Certification, participants are required the following:
ü High school diploma or equivalent educational diploma i.e. GED
ü Full disclosure of all criminal and State Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure actions
ü Compliance with all applicable PTCB Certification policies
ü Passing score of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE)
