Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is the leading industry certification for information security professionals. The knowledge and experience to design, develop and manage the overall security posture of an organization.
CISSP Course Admission Requirements and Pre-Requisites
The depth of knowledge needed to pass the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge based certification exam is immense and requires each student’s active, dedicated and diligent participation, inside and outside of the classroom. Students must meet one of the below requirements to register for this TNCC CISSP exam preparatory course:
1. Candidate must demonstrate that they possess a minimum academic, work experience and/or prior knowledge requirements of one year, collectively, in one or more computer-based aptitudes. These may include, but are not limited to, Information Technology, Cyber Security, System Administration, Network Administration, Computer Science or Information Assurance. OR
2. Candidate must demonstrate that they possess an IT-related credential. These may include, but are not limited to, A+, Security+, Network+, Certified Ethical Hacker, Cisco Certification, and/or a Microsoft Certification. OR
3. Candidate must prove knowledgeable in the basics of information technology by successfully passing TNCC’s basic information technology challenge test.
(ISC)² CISSP Eligibility Requirements:
Per (ISC)², to qualify for the CISSP certification, candidates must have five years of cumulative full-time work experience in two or more domains as defined by the (ISC)² CBK, pass the strenuous CISSP exam and be endorsed by an (ISC)² certified professional. (ISC)² provides a one year professional experience waiver if the candidate possesses a four year college degree in the same field, its regional equivalent or educational eligibility as defined by (ISC)². Candidates without the required professional experience may take the exam, but will not be eligible for the CISSP certification until they meet the minimum professional experience requirements. They will be assigned the designation of “Associate of (ISC)²” and once the required work experience has been met (up to six years to gain the five years of CISSP experience required), they are then eligible for the CISSP credential.
